Height: 83 m (Tower 1)

The Westmount Square is a residential and office complex, located in Westmount, Quebec, Canada. Tower 1 (Westmount Square 1) and the Tower 4 pavilion (Westmount Square 4) serve as office buildings, while Towers 2 and 3 (Westmount Square 2 and 3) are used as apartment buildings. All those buildings stand on an underground shopping centre.

The entire complex was designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the International architectural style in 1967. The buildings are characterized by curtain walls composed of black anodized aluminum mullions and non-operable smoked glass windows.

The non-structural aluminum I-beam mullion, a hallmark of Mies van der Rohe's design, is featured at the Westmount Square. This concept is also observed at the Toronto-Dominion Centre and the Seagram Building, where the I-beam mullion is made from steel and bronze, respectively.

The pilotis, columns or pillars to raise a building above a ground level, are another characteristics of Mies van der Rohe's skyscraper. Similar to Toronto-Dominion Centre, the interior of the first floor all has travertine coverings.

In the underground shopping area, travertine covers not only the floor and columns but also the benches and garbage bins.
